Acupuncture can be combined with other forms of therapy:
A. Physical Therapy :
Ultrasound Therapy, Hot Packs, Paraffin Wax Bath, Transcutaneous Nerve Stimulator are adjuncts to acupuncture in the treatment of muscle and nerve pain.
B. Acupuncture with Portable Neck Traction:
This traction is good for neck pain and upper back pain. It improves the brain circulation by relaxing the Para cervical neck muscles. It provides pain relief by relieving pressure on the joints. This is useful for home use for patients with neck spondylosis or arthritis.
C. Acupuncture with Western Medications:
Patients taking western medications for other medical problems may continue the medications even if they are undergoing acupuncture. These two forms of therapy compliment each other.
D. Acupuncture with Massage:
Acupuncture combined with massage for muscle pain is more effective than when applied separately.
E. Acupuncture with Reflexology:
This is also a form of complimentary medicine which improves the circulations of the qi (energy) along the meridians.
